Comic Book Tour: Ep.1 Golden Apple Comics

Impound Comics kicked off its Comic Store Tour segment on YouTube with a visit to one of Los Angeles’ most iconic comic shops—Golden Apple Comics on Melrose Avenue. Brent Trayce Sands, creator of the Impound Universe, sat down with store managers Joe and Abby to highlight some of the rarest and coolest treasures in the shop.

Among the rare finds was a truly one-of-a-kind piece: a Savage Dragon comic signed by former President Barack Obama. Certified authentic, it stands as one of the rarest items in the store’s history and a surprising gem for collectors.

From there, the tour moved to something equally legendary—a massive Avengers: Infinity War poster signed by much of the cast and the Russo Brothers. Gifted to the shop after a James Corden late-night comedy segment filmed on-site, the poster captures a unique slice of Marvel history, complete with photos from that unforgettable day.

Golden Apple has been a staple of the comic book community for 45 years—20 of them at the Melrose Avenue location—cementing itself as a cornerstone of pop culture in Hollywood.
